Download Website 19 Sep 22:35 libmemcached 1.0.11

libmemcached is a C client library for interfacing to a memcached server. It has been designed to be light on memory usage, thread safe and to provide full access to server side methods. It also implements several command line tools: memcat, memflush, memrm, memstat, and memslap (for load generation). The library has been designed to allow for different hashing methods on keys, partitioning by keys, and to use consistent hashing for distribution.

Download Website 19 Sep 22:26 Asymptote 2.17

Asymptote is a powerful descriptive 2D and 3D vector graphics language for technical drawing, inspired by MetaPost but with an improved C++-like syntax. It provides for figures the same high-quality level of typesetting that LaTeX does for scientific text. Asymptote is a programming language as opposed to just a graphics program. It can exploit the best features of script (command-driven) and graphical user interface (GUI) methods. High-level graphics commands are implemented in the language itself, allowing them to be easily tailored to specific applications.

Release Notes: Bugs with non-square pen function images and autoscaled logarithmic axes were fixed. Off-screen and non-off-screen rendering are now supported in a single binary (requiring OSMesa version 8). The media9 LaTeX style file is now used to embed 3D PRC content. Local 3D coordinates are used. PRC Part names are no longer generated by default. A bug in bezulate was fixed. A settings.axes3 flag was added to control the visibility of PRC axes. An efficient 3D routine for drawing many triangles, with specified vertices and optional normals or vertex colors, was implemented.

Download Website 19 Sep 21:55 Parrot and Chirp 3.6.0

Parrot and Chirp are user-level tools that make it easy to rapidly deploy wide area filesystems. Parrot is the client component: it transparently attaches to unmodified applications, and redirects their system calls to various remote servers. A variety of controls can be applied to modify the namespace and resources available to the application. Chirp is the server component: it allows an ordinary user to easily export and share storage across the wide area with a single command. A rich access control system allows users to mix and match multiple authentication types. Parrot and Chirp are most useful in the context of large scale distributed systems such as clusters, clouds, and grids where one may have limited permissions to install software.

Release Notes: Parrot now supports file extended attributes, more efficient iRODS getfile/putfile operations, and watchdog process management.

Download Website 19 Sep 21:54 Makeflow 3.6.0

Makeflow is a workflow engine for executing large complex applications on clusters, clouds, and grids. It can be used to drive several different distributed computing systems, including Condor, SGE, and the included Work Queue system. It does not require a distributed filesystem, so you can use it to harness whatever collection of machines you have available. It is typically used for scaling up data-intensive scientific applications to hundreds or thousands of cores.

Release Notes: WorkQueue now has a new API for logging, improved python binding support and documentation, and various other bugfixes and minor features. Makeflow now supports garbage collection of intermediate files, lexical scoping of makeflow variables, and a new MAKEFLOW keyword for recursive makeflows.
