Release Notes: A +-1 size realloc() problem was fixed in TOC handling for cdda2wav. A workaround was added for a double free problem in mkisofs, introduced with multi-extent file support, that caused it to dump core on Cygwin.
Release Notes: Support for vendor unique commands (like Gigarec and AudioMaster) on Plextor drives was extended. A new simulation driver "bd_simul" implements BluRay behavior. Support for reading C1/C2/CU CD errors from Plextor and NEC/Optiarc drives with readcd was added. Support for reading pisum8/pif DVD errors from Plextor drives with readcd was added.
Release Notes: mkisofs now supports multi-extent files and thus supports files larger than 4 GB (up to 8 TB) if -iso-level is 3 or more. New -hide-udf and -hide-udf-list options allow you to selectively exclude files from the UDF tree. All programs in cdrtools now print a copyright message and a year number to make it easier to distinguish them from software forked from old versions.
Release Notes: Better speed information is provided by cdrecord -prcap. A new -no-limit-pathtables option for mkisofs allows you to create file systems with more than 65535 parent directories. New errctl=name or errctl=control-spec mkisofs options allow error handling to be controlled. A bug in auto-target mode was fixed.
Release Notes: Mkisofs now sets up the input character set from the locale. SCSI send permission problems with USCSI and Solaris are detected and correctly handled. "cdrecord -pad cue=file" now works as people expect. Linux 2.6.8 warnings are printed only if there really was a problem. The Blu Ray driver now supports "cdrecord -atip" to read manufacturer IDs. DVD writing works again. Introducing Blu Ray with 2.01.01a29 did cause problems with DVDs.
Release Notes: The first step for adding Blu Ray support adds Blu Ray speed and timing factors and a first skeleton-like Blu Ray driver for writing. Some problems resulting from the change from libunls to libsiconv were fixed. Some hints were added on how to hand-craft correct Linux include files to allow compilation of cdrtools with Sun Studio 12 on Linux. The man page was cleaned up for cdda2wav.
Release Notes: The new library libsiconv replaces libunls, and mkisofs now supports iconv() based locale translations. Mkisofs enhances the UDF support (symlinks, UID/GID/permissions, and MAC enhancements have been added) by using code from helios.de. READMEs are now installed with "make install". Support has been added for creating Blastwave SVr4 packages.
Release Notes: Several enhancements to the makefile system have been made. mkisofs -J no longer implies -l (as before the new option parser was added). This release lets cdrecord check the available transfer size for more SCSI commands.
Release Notes: A typo in paranoia_init() that could cause a core dump with cdda2wav was fixed. A bug was fixed in libfind that could cause endless recursion on systems without user "nobody". An attempted workaround was made for a Pioneer firmware bug that may cause DVDs to be written at the lowest speed. Silent SCSI mode is switched off after a SCSI target autodetect (no dev= parameter) has been done. A former timezone bug in mkisofs has been fixed.
Release Notes: Libfind is now close to the final state. Libfind has been restructured to allow it to be used as a builtin function inside shells like "bsh" and "ksh93", supporting I/O redirection and shell builtin signal handling. Libfind no longer leaks memory if called with a commandline with syntax errors. The scg_numbus() function for FreeBSD was corrected to make cdrtools work again. A bug that caused cdda2wav to hang when retrieving the CDDB information was fixed.
