Release Notes: A new fast JIT compiler was introduced. Compared with the optimizing JIT compiler found in versions prior to 3.6, it provides shorter dynamic compilation time and smaller memory footprint in exchange for a lower optimization level. Other new features include a command-line version of JET Setup, support for the latest J2SE microversions, and a new sample (Rhino scripting engine) that uses the fast JIT compiler. Finally, Mandrake 10.0 was added to the list of test distributions.
