Release Notes: This version introduces vertical zoom locking. It also fixes several bugs, including ones related to high zoom polygon clipping and 1-bit tiff images.
Release Notes: This is a minor bugfix release which fixes a bug in the display of binary tiff images. It is also the first release to provide a 64-bit Windows binary installer.
Release Notes: This major bugfix release solves display discrepancies in the marks viewer, in the state of balloon popups, in caliper-text on windows and in other places. It adds several new features, including multi-line text annotations, shadows below the text, and persistent settings for auto-contrast, sub-pixel coordinates, and auto-fit. It changes the behavior of mouse wheel zooming so the coordinate below the mouse stays fixed when zooming.
Release Notes: This version adds remote control of giv through a JSonRpc protocol. This makes giv suitable for a remote viewer for a running application. There are commands available for changing the image and the vector view of an already running giv, as well as prompting the user to click on a coordinate and retrieving the pixel coordinate.
Release Notes: This is a minor enhancement and bugfix release with the following new features. A pixel grid has been added that may shown at high zoom factors. A new tool allows counting the number of marks in a region. The auto-contrast on file loading may now be turned off. A bug related to multi-slice images in the fits plugin was fixed.
Release Notes: This version contain several small enhancements. The measurement tool now allows dragging the caliper for fine adjustment. The pixel size tool recalculates the distance when toggling between different pixel size modes. The histogram in the contrast tool now shows an indicator of the current gray level when hovering over the image. The TIFF plugin has been extended for floating point and 1-bit images. A PNG (including 16bit) plugin has been added. Alpha transparency for marks may now be toggled on and off. This version also fixes a bug in 64-bit compilation.
Release Notes: A new calibration tool allows setting the pixel size, and subsequent distance measurements will use the calibrated pixelsize. The measurement tool has been made flicker-free and changed to more aesthetic caliper-like graphics. The contrast tool now works with 8-bit images and allows zooming of the histogram. The Windows installer has been updated to the latest GTK version. A new tiff plugin has been added that reads more TIFF formats than gdk-pixbuf. The fits plugin now supports multi-slice (volume) FITS files.
Release Notes: This is a major upgrade that adds support for 16-bit, 32-bit, float, and double type images through a new plugin system. Plugins for FITS, npy (Numerical Python), and DICOM images are included. A contrast tool has been added. It allows interactive changing of the contrast and brightness of the image displayed. A new color bar widget shows the mapping of colors to gray levels.
Release Notes: This version adds several text item enhancements. Text labels may now be resized when zooming in and out, they may be anchored according to 9 anchor points, and they may be given in Pango markup. Internally, giv has now been turned into a widget so that it may easily be embedded into other GTK applications.
Release Notes: An alignment bug of the image at high zoom factors has finally been solved. A cross hair has been added, which allows the center of the image to be shown. The keyboard interaction "c" was chosen to toggle the crosshair.
