Release Notes: With this version, it is now possible to specify the available bandwidth for upload and download independently. The server re-reads the configuration when it receives a SIGHUP signal. Also, connections are now shutdown properly if the server is stopped, informing other nodes not to keep sending traffic. A compile error with partially found libextractor library was fixed, along with bugs with non-gdbm databases (tdb, directory), and other minor fixes.
Release Notes: The order of blocks that are downloaded is now randomized. Hashtable collisions are handled much faster. A tool "gnunet-check" to verify and fix the GNUnet databases was added. gnunetd now forks and goes properly into the background like a deamon should. Bugs with spaces in filenames and problems under BSD were fixed. tdb is now supported for the database.
Release Notes: Several performance critical bugs (looping queries, too frequent key exchanges) were fixed. New features include a tool to display statistics, better support for NAT boxes with dynamic IPs and verification if clients connect from trusted networks.
Release Notes: New features in this release are the automated download of the hostlist via HTTP by the GNUnet server and the use of MIME type and file name information by the GTK GUI. Also, several bugs (segfaults, build process problems, endianess of port numbers, etc.) were fixed.
Release Notes: Besides from being entirely incompatible with the previous version and thus forcing an update, this version adds support for keyword extraction using libextractor, mime-types and filenames in the search results, big-endian compatibility, the use of a database to store the shared data, an improved build process, the possibility to insert content while the server is running, improved download performance, and lots of minor and major bugfixes.
Release Notes: A GTK+ GUI was created to search and download files from GNUnet. Several serious bugs and a few performance issues were also resolved.
Release Notes: This release has been ported to FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD. Boolean queries of the form 'a AND b' are now possible. Several performance issues, in particular several conditions that would lead to excessive CPU load, were addressed. The heuristic for routing of queries was improved. Several minor bugs were fixed.
Release Notes: The Java/Swing GUI was replaced by console tools written in C. The server is now a bit more clever with routing decisions. A couple of bugs (in particular server segfaults on startup if GNUnet was not able to determine the local IP) were fixed. The name of the project was changed from GNet to GNUnet.
Release Notes: GNet now evaluates content and automatically discards data in favor of better data. A tool to extract keywords from mp3 id-tags for fast content insertion was added. The installation should be easier, and a couple of bugs were also fixed.
Release Notes: Compile errors under SUN JDK 1.2 were fixed. The RPM install was improved (hostlist is now downloaded automatically).
