LILO-Splash-Screen Script-Fu

LILO-Splash-Screen Script-Fu is a script for the GIMP which helps you create fancy splash screens for use with LILO (and the boot-logo patch). It converts an RGB image to an indexed one, selecting appropriate colors for the image and a special region of interest (the current selection) where the boot menu shall reside. This is done by first duplicating the selection and its inversion, converting both to indexed images, then adding a modified color palette (ADD/SUB) required for the menu bar, and finally recombining all palette colors into a single 256 color palette.

      be sure to right click on the image and select the script-fu option from there. On mine, I don't see it from the main menu but do on the image menu.

      Hope this helps

      ... tried that with Gimp 1.2 and it worked like a charm!

      cp lilo-splash-screen.scm ~/.gimp-1.2/scripts/
      [GIMP RESTART]
      [GIMP NEW WINDOW, RGB!]
      [GIMP WINDOW MENU->SCRIPT-FU->UTILS]

      I would be glad if you could report the Gimp
      version as well as the Script version and/or
      try the steps given above ...

      Registering this script
      Hi,
      I have been trying to get this script to work, but so far, The Gimp has never shown any sign of recognizing this script.
      I have copied the .scm file into the system wide gimp script dir,
      I have copied the .scm file into ~/.gimp/scripts, but none of these makes gimp see this script. What else can I do or do I have to do ?
