Release Notes: A Ruby interface is now available. In qualudis, various deprecated functions are flagged, and maintainer information is included in the output. The deplist has been rewritten to be much cleaner and much more sensible in its handling of virtuals. It can now reinstall packages if USE flags have changed, and can display why a package is being installed. The security set for Portage format repositories no longer requires an external preprocessor; thus, paludis -pi security will now work off a raw sync.

Release Notes: The USE_EXPAND code has been cleaned up and simplified, and various bugs have been fixed in the process. A new --list-sets action is available for the paludis client. For paludis --query, visible packages are now chosen over masked packages. When a package install fails, the paludis client now displays a command that can be used to resume the current task.

Release Notes: A bug that could have caused weird behaviour when using old style virtuals with multiple profiles has been fixed. The sets merging behaviour has been standardised. Previously, some sets were selected from one repository rather than combined from all; this is considered too confusing and not as useful as originally intended.

Release Notes: The adjutrix client has several new actions that will be of use to arch and release people. A bug that prevented recursion from behaving correctly in dohtml was fixed. Ebuild hooks can now use die. The eselect news client has several new options. There is now a workaround for Portage incorrectly omitting the final newline in the world file. use.conf now supports -*. CONFIG_PROTECT{,_MASK} now supports -target and -*.

Release Notes: For econf, the generated --libdir will now be based upon --prefix. This fixes KDE installs on multilib profiles. The dosym utility had a typo that prevented it from correctly creating directories; this is now fixed.

Release Notes: elog is now much more useful. Virtuals are handled entirely dynamically and are no longer written to VDB, making Paludis and Portage interoperability much smoother. Support for CRAN repositories is now available. Repository formats are now dynamically loaded at runtime from .so files rather than being hard-compiled in.

Release Notes: In key/value configuration files, line continuations inside a quoted string with no backslash are now a warning, not an error. REAL_CHOST is now exported automatically to avoid problems with gcc-config when Portage is not installed. Support for the newer libselinux /proc voodoo. svn+https:// is recognised for syncing. Huge speed improvements when merging. portageq vdb_path is now emulated. Fail hooks for ebuild phases are available.
