PFARS For Automatic Replication System is mainly used to sync servers in LVS clusters but also has many other uses. It is based on rsync over SSH and has native support for the Debian package system.

Release Notes: This release fixes a few minor bugs in 0.9.3. It also incorporates the new .pfarsignore file support allowing users to easily mark individual files or directories to be ignored from replication on individual slave servers. This will most likely be the last alpha release of pfars before it is declared beta unless a bunch of feedback is received asking for new features.
Release Notes: The init-files.local and files.local files are now useful. A new packages.local file is used for overriding the installed Debian packages. The default init-files config file was improved to fix bugs and include /etc/apt/sources.list. PFARS now properly restarts when it is updated during stage two.
Release Notes: This release is now compatible with Debian 2.2 (Potato) and Perl 5.005. Much the of code has been refactored into the PFARS Perl module. There is a new pfars-slave-install script to automatically configure pfars slaves, and a new pfars-server engine that gives better server side control of what is happening. Only one client side ssh key is needed instead of three, and pipes to external commands are now done safely.
