Storix Backup Administrator (SBAdmin) provides both an intuitive graphical user interface and command line options for performing backups of a standalone system, or managing backups of all Linux and AIX systems on a network. In addition to backing up data onto a network server, tape, or disk device, it can reinstall a complete system from scratch, clone or migrate systems, manage volumes and RAID devices, and restore data in any configuration you choose. Release Notes: New features include multiple exclude lists for different backup jobs and clients, network booting for Linux, multiple boot loader support for Linux on Intel-based systems, and selective file restore using a file tree similar to the Windows Explorer. A Windows (SMB) backup feature and an encryption feature are available for an additional charge and require a separate license key. The Windows backup feature allows SMB clients to be backed up from a Linux host. The encryption feature can encrypt backup data with either 128-, 192-, or 256-bit AES encryption.
Release Notes: This release features a full system backup and recovery using a local hard disk and backup and recovery device. Backups may be copied from one media to another, allowing for backup "staging" from disk to tape, or consolidating multiple backups to a single tape, etc. Backups may be configured to be automatically verified upon completion. There is a new command line options for backup administrator functions. Snapshot backups may be made from all LVM-based filesystems and logical volumes. Linux network "initrd" images may be created and used to configure clients to network boot to the Storix installation process.
Release Notes: Full support for Linux on IBM pSeries (PPC) Systems, random tape library support, new server/device error handling preferences, no-prompt system installations, a new ability to send reports to email or save to file, and a new "stqueue" command for adding, changing, and displaying queued jobs from the commandline. Storix desktop icons have been added to GNOME and KDE desktops, the "stmakeboot" command can now build initrd images and/or update the bootloader on the boot disk, and user-customizable post-installation scripts have been included.
