Release Notes: The utilities were resynced with recent SCSI draft standards. The operating system SCSI pass through code was restructured to be more generic. Ports for FreeBSD and Tru64 were added for non-Linux-specific utilities (which is most of them).
Release Notes: This release adds an sg_map26 utility for mapping between a primary SCSI device node and the corresponding sg node (or vice versa). sg_map26 assumes sysfs, hence is only applicable to the 2.6 Linux kernel series. sg_dd now takes iflag and oflag options similar to those found in recent GNU dd versions. "sg_inq -rr" now outputs an ATA IDENTIFY response in a form suitable for "hdparm --Istdin" to decode.
Release Notes: This release mainly improves ATA(PI) device support in sg_inq. It is synced with SPC-4 rev 2.
Release Notes: A sg_ident tool was added for setting and reporting device identifiers. The range of various device scanning utilities was increased beyond 256 devices. A debian directory was added for .deb package builds. Binary RPM and deb packages now depend on a libsgutils package found at the same location.
Release Notes: This release cleans up the man pages, especially sg_format and sg_reset. It makes various utilities more robust with non- sg device nodes, and adds more sanity checking to sg_modes to detect and decode malformed responses. It also extends sg_map to cope with sparse disk device names. sg_ses update.
Release Notes: This version adds a utility to read a media serial number. It refactors the binary RPM into libsgutils and sg3_utils RPMs (similarly for binary deb packages). It also updates various utilities in accord with recent changes in the SCSI draft standards.
Release Notes: The sg_format utility was added to format and resize SCSI disks. Extensions were added to the sg_dd utility to make it more robust when copying from damaged media. Some bugfixes were also made.
Release Notes: This release adds sg_reassign, sg_wr_mode, and sg_rtpg utilities, as well as various other fixes and enhancements.
Release Notes: The sg_sync, sg_prevent, and sg_get_config utilities were added. These invoke the SYNCHRONIZE CACHE, PREVENT ALLOW MEDIUM REMOVAL, and GET CONFIGURATION SCSI commands, respectively. Various other fixes were made.
Release Notes: This release adds sg_luns. It fixes a read capacity command error that affected sg_readcap, sg_dd, sgm_dd, and sgp_dd.
