Release Notes: Data for the timestamp 00:00:00 appears in one of the daily data files when sar/sadc rotates its output file. The check for non SMP configurations when asking for mpstat -P has been removed. The sargon script and FAQ have been updated.

Release Notes: mpstat now uses a bitmap of char instead of int to avoid endianness problems. As a consequence, mpstat should now work on PowerMac architectures. CPU activity as displayed by mpstat -P for a given processor was in a wrong range on SMP machines (e.g., 0-50% for a dual processor box). A missing bitmap initialization was fixed in mpstat.c, and updates were made to the configuration script and the FAQ.

Release Notes: Average wait times and service times as displayed by iostat -x were wrong by a factor of 10. This is now fixed. Linux RESTART messages must now be in the interval specified by -s/-e options to be displayed by sar. A small bug has been fixed that affected the timestamp for RESTART messages displayed by sar -h when -t was used. Sar -H now displays its data in local time instead of UTC when -t is used. A Sargon shell script has been added.

Release Notes: iostat is able to display I/O activity in kB/s with 2.4.x kernels (option -k), a fix for a typo in sar -W -h output, handling the case when some parameters in /proc/net/dev may overflow ULONG_MAX, sar -d displays sectors per second instead of blocks per second, a new FAQ, and NLS updates with a Russian translation.

Release Notes: Problems with CPU usage display on IA64 machines in iostat, mpstat, and sar have been fixed. Database friendly option ("-H") added to sar. Disk and network interface management improved (both may be registered dynamically). Options "-s" and "-e" now work when option "-h" is used. isag upgraded to version 1.17. isag installation is now optional and can be chosen at the config stage. Man pages are now installed in ${PREFIX}/share/man instead of ${PREFIX}/man. Norwegian translation added to NLS.

Release Notes: Better network interfaces handling -- now takes into account the fact that they may be registered/unregistered dynamically, changes to the formula used to display statistics in order to avoid overflow conditions, a fix for a bug in iostat where the %util value scaled incorrectly, better long filename management by iostat, mpstat and sar no longer periodically display the title line when stdout has been redirected to a pipe or a file, the sa2.sh shell script has been updated (now exec sadc), the configuration script has been updated, and the isag command improved.

Release Notes: This release includes paging statistics (sar -B), load averages and queue length statistics (sar -q), per device statistics (sar -d), better accuracy when computing the average for some statistics, display of all the contents of a daily data file when the count parameter is not given on the command line, more aggressive checking of command line options, fixes so iostat no longer freezes if -c and -d options are used together, a fix for a bug that prevented iostat from displaying more than an average of three devices with 2.4 kernels, a check added to ensure that sar and sadc commands are consistent, and some isag command updates.

Release Notes: An improved Iostat command which takes full advantage of an I/O accounting patch to display extended statistics (option -x). The default value for the count parameter of the sar command is now 1. A value of 0 will indicate that reports are to be generated continuously. The code is cleaner, and always uses 'double' numbers instead of the INT_PART, INT_VAL, DEC_PART, and DEC_VAL macros. Jiffies are not assumed to be 100ths of a second; the Linux HZ definition is used instead. NLS is updated, and a new Isag (Interactive System Activity Graph) command was added.
