Release Notes: The kernels have been updated to 184.108.40.206 (standard kernels based on the Long-Term-Supported 2.6.35 kernel) and 220.127.116.11 (alternative kernels). The squash filesystem is now compressed using XZ instead of LZMA. The firmwares were updated in both the initramfs and in the main filesystem. nouveau is the new default video driver for Nvidia cards. GNU Parted was updated to version 2.3 with patches from Ubuntu-10.10 and GParted was updated to 0.7.1. fsarchiver was updated to 0.6.12, aufs to 2.1, xorg-server to 1.9.3, and Network-Manager to 0.8.x. A 64-bit version of memtester was added.
Release Notes: The kernels have been updated with the most recent stable patch (alternative kernels to 18.104.22.168, standard kernels to 22.214.171.124). xorg-server was updated to 1.9.2 (graphical server and drivers), and fsarchiver was updated to 0.6.11.
Release Notes: The alternative kernels (altker32 + altker64) have been updated to 126.96.36.199. Several applications have also been updated: truecrypt to 7.0a, xorg-server to 1.9.1, GParted to 0.7.0 (initial support for btrfs + bugfixes), and Perl 5.12.2. Scrub 2.2 has been added.
Release Notes: The standard kernels were updated to 188.8.131.52 (rescuecd + rescue64) and alternative kernels to 184.108.40.206 (altker32 + altker64). GParted was updated to 0.6.4, ntfs3g to 2010.10.2, xorg-server to 220.127.116.111, and xf86-video-nv to 2.1.18. fsarchiver 0.6.10 was patched to make it work on recent btrfs filesystems. More fonts were added.
Release Notes: The standard kernels were updated to 18.104.22.168 and alternative kernels were updated to 2.6.34. GParted was updated to 0.6.0 with support for devices with sectors larger than 512 bytes. xfsprogs was updated to 3.1.2. Network drivers were updated. Problems with the tg3 ethernet driver (mostly used by Broadcom cards) were fixed. Fixes and improvements were made in the USB installation script for Linux (usb_inst.sh). Customization options were added to the sysresccd USB installer for Windows. Isohybrid, which breaks isoloop, was disabled. pxebootsrv was improved.
Release Notes: This version comes with a program (for Linux or Windows) to install SystemRescueCd on a USB stick. The standard kernels have been updated to 22.214.171.124. Several bugs were fixed in the pxebootsrv service that provides a PXE boot server for SystemRescueCd out of the box. Two boot options have been added: "nonm" to disable the Network-Manager and "nodhcp" to disable automatic DHCP in PXE boot.
Release Notes: The framebuffer console was enabled to fix extended VGA modes (booting with "vga=xxx"). Modules were moved to the embedded kernel initramfs to reduce the memory requirement. Lzma compression is now used for the initramfs to save space. The alternative kernels were updated to 126.96.36.199 and standard kernels were updated to 188.8.131.52. The "dostartx" option that starts Xorg automatically and the Xorg auto-configuration script used by "wizard" were fixed. The default isolinux boot screen is now based on a menu. squashfs was updated to version 4.0 with lzma compression.
Release Notes: The boot process is faster, thanks to OpenRC and to the reorganization of system services. Version 1.5 is also based on udev, so only the appropriate drivers are loaded, which accelerates the boot process. Parted-2.2 has been patched to fix usability problems (specifically, the ”failed to re-read the partition table” error). This release also fixes usability problems with the intel xorg driver. The standard kernels (rescuecd and rescue64) are now based on a new configuration.
Release Notes: The standard and alternative kernels have been upgraded to 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11 respectively. Two boot options that allow booting SystemRescueCd from either NFS or NBD have been added. It allows computers with less than 512 MB to boot from the network since the compresssed root filesystem does not have to fit in memory with NFS and NBD. zfs-fuse 0.6.0 has been added. Parted has been updated to 2.1 (support for devices with sectors > 512 bytes) and fsarchiver-0.6.8 (important fixes).
Release Notes: The standard kernels have been updated to Linux 18.104.22.168. Application updates: fsarchiver to 0.6.5, GParted to version 0.5.1, LVM2 to 2.02.56, and ntfs3g to 2010.01.16. This release adds missing codepages and downgrades mtools to fix problems. It implements the boot option dhcphostname=xxx to set the hostname sent to the DHCP server.
