slakbootIBS (Slackware Interactive Boot Scripts) is an enhanced set of replacement boot scripts for the Slackware Linux distribution. It includes a set of control and dispatch tools for configuring and booting with colorized interactive scripts. The new boot process allows the operator to select or skip start-up components in realtime. It facilitates debugging of startup problems and allows operators to maintain a common baseline to support several local configurations or multiple servers with a single set of scripts.
DVDripTools is a collection of scripts that operate DVD ripping tools. It consists of ripdvd, which creates an MKV, OGM, or MP4 file container very easily; ripdvdcrop, which detects the cropping to use when ripping a DVD; and ripdvdtest, which performs a ripping test of a few seconds.
bpkg is a utility that tries to simplify the process of trying out new programs from source. For most packages, this can be as simple as "bpkg <url or tarball>". bpkg will download, extract, configure, compile, install, generate a package in your system's native format, and finally integrate that package into your system's packaging system so that you can remove it cleanly. It has auto-detection for Arch Linux, Slackware, Red Hat, Gentoo, and SuSE (though not all packaging back-ends are complete). bpkg is not intended as a replacement for normal packaging utilities.
RPSL (Rapid Prototyping Shared Library) is a set of bash scripts and utility files that coordinate the GNU autotools and pkg-config for C/C++ build automation. The scripts and procedures define a system for building and linking that supports an individual or small group. A single command (rpslSyncBuild) scans for source, writes a Makefile.am and Configure.ac, and produces a conventional autotools tree ready for the usual "configure, make, make install" build steps.
Raven's System Stats allows users to collect detailed information about an operating system, including kernel architecture, distro, operating system, kernel version, glibc version, name of login shell, number of CPUs, CPU description, hyperthreading support, CPU MHz, CPU cache, bogomips, used and total RAM, used and total swap, filesystem size and type, uptime, unique users logged in, total login shells, currently running processes, total processes since bootup, load average, X resolution, and the number of X servers running.
