stowES (stow Enhancement Script) is a Perl script which tries to ease the use of the "stow" packaging program and software which can be compiled and installed with autoconf. It automates the compilation and installation of software packages and provides some useful functions to maintain your stow packages (e.g., list packages, check packages for integrity, etc.).
CMake is a cross-platform, open-source build system. It is used to control the software compilation process using simple platform and compiler independent configuration files. It generates native makefiles and workspaces that can be used in the compiler environment of your choice. CMake is quite sophisticated: it is possible to support complex environments requiring system configuration, pre-processor generation, and code generation.
Cobras is a programming environment for Qt, and is written in Qt itself. It has an integrated debugger (as a front-end for GDB), and is very functional and helpful. It is fast and easy to use. It consists of one binary file (plus an icon for the desktop). It does not create its own files when working with a project, but uses only the original '.pro' file.
Motor is a text-mode integrated programming environment for Linux. It consists of an editor with syntax highlighting, a project manager, a makefile generator, gcc, ctags, gdb, autoconf/automake and grep front-ends. CVS integration is also provided. It allows one to edit, compile, and debug programs without a need to leave the IDE, automatically check in/out files from a CVS repository and import projects into CVS, and generate distribution packages (tar.gz and RPM). The color schemes are customisable.
POMStrap is a little library whose purpose is to solve the Java JAR hell problem. It works as an application bootstrap that builds a classloaders tree based on Maven 2 dependencies declared in project files (pom). Using POMStrap allows you to execute an application depending on multiple versions of a library without any conflict.
DB Visual Architect for NetBeans (DBVA-NB) is a full-featured Object Relational Mapping (ORM) plugin for NetBeans that provides the industry's best round-trip code engineering support with Java. The tool acts as a bridge between the object model, data model, and relational model by automating the mapping between relational rows in a database and object models which can be manipulated by a Java program.
MetaBoss is an integrated suite of tools for the design, development, and management of enterprise software systems through modelling. It utilises OMG's Model Driven Architecture concepts and is primarily oriented at enterprises using Java based tools and technologies. It encourages serious upfront analysis and design and aims to crystallise the value of it by automating a number of activities in the Software Development Life Cycle.
Grand is a set of tools to create a visual representation of Ant target dependencies. It works by taking an Ant build file and creating a "dot" file. It differs from the existing tools by relying on the Ant API rather than XML parsing to get the dependencies. It includes many advanced features such as filtering or rendering depending on the target's nature.
Simple Continuous Integration Tools (scit) is an automated build and or test system consisting of a set of Perl and expect scripts utilizing common tools that are available for most Unix-like operating systems. The intention is to keep it lightweight while still providing a full set of features. The current version has a command-line and an HTML user interface. It should be possible to make it run on very modest hardware; part of the development and testing has been done on a Nokia N900 phone with both master and slave roles running on the same unit.
