IceUtils is a suite of command line tools designed to make creating a role playing game world and playing through that world an easier task. Although some of the tools are specific to the Iron Crowns Rolemaster role playing system, other tools can be used for just about any game environment in existence.
Alore is an object-oriented programming language with a clean syntax that resembles Python and Lua. It is optionally-typed like Google Dart. It is both a dynamic scripting language and a general-purpose language with static typing. It is aimed at most programming tasks, from short scripts to complex applications. It allows programmers to freely mix static and dynamic typing within a program. It has native threads and a very fast edit-test cycle. Programmers can always bypass type checking and run their programs immediately.
fifoirc creates a named pipe on the local filesystem, such that any data written to the pipe will be written to an IRC channel. It is also possible to connect a filter program to the channel, such that any text written in the channel is passed to the program, and any text output by the program is passed to the channel.
Cdarts is a low level implementation of a computer darts player. It can be used as an opponent against a human in the game, or it can be used as a simulator for fun. It currently supports only two different game types (301 and 501), but can be extended to support more games. It supports three different levels: beginner, hobbyist, and professional. Each level tries to simulate a human at that level as well as possible.
foma is a compiler, programming language, and C library for constructing finite-state automata and transducers for various uses. It has specific support for many natural language processing applications such as producing morphological analyzers. Although NLP applications are probably the main use of foma, it is sufficiently generic to use for a large number of purposes. It comes with an xfst-compatible interface and regular expression language. The library contains efficient implementations of all classical automata/transducer algorithms: determinization, minimization, epsilon-removal, composition, and boolean operations. More advanced construction methods are also available: context restriction, quotients, first-order regular logic, transducers from replacement rules, etc.
BS is a data structures library. It features fixed size, random access sequences. The sequences are constructed over B-trees. Complexity for most single item operations is about O(logN). The sequences are three to five times faster over random access BST-based sequences, while having better memory usage characteristics.
sVimPy is a very small Python virtual machine intended for use in microcontroller projects. At the moment, it supports about 3/4 of all opcodes used in python3k. Most data types are supported. The intended goal is to use this VM in environments like Atmel's ATmega chips (2-8kb RAM). The microcontroller bootloader is still missing (no arduinos left for experimentation). Classes are not supported. Features include: function calling, a stack based VM, garbage collection, very low memory usage, an interactive debugging console, dictionaries and tuples, iterations, VM single stepping (game loop usage is possible), C function calling, a small memory footprint, fast performance, the ability to be used as a library in other projects, a simple API + code, possible usage as a small deployment executable for Python projects.
