FormMagick is a set of Perl modules intended to ease the task of writing multi-page Web forms. It takes a description of the form (fields, validation to perform on each field, etc) in XML format and generates HTML on the fly. Other features include templates for changing the "look and feel" of your forms, and the ability to easily localise your text for other languages.
EveryChat is a Perl CGI chat script designed to work on any server and under any browser (especially Lynx!). It will take advantage of frames if available. eDB is a very simple and easy-to-use collection of Perl 5 CGI scripts to perform searches on a flat-file database. Search results are displayed using HTML templates that can be modified to fit the user's needs. Pattern-based searches can be refined by using a range of values of a user-specified field. If desired, search results can be displayed using a paging procedure.
ctk-nettools provides functions to deal with templates in Perl. It also provides other functions to do log, to get value from db-file (Btree or Hash), and to get the date. The principle of the templates handling is to use an HTTP server to serve the templates. There's also a cache handling to speed up templates loading and to have a copy in case of a crash of the templates server.
cgi-util is a fast, easy to use C library for creating CGI programs. Functions are available for initialization (parsing), grabbing fields (by string, integer, double or boolean value), embedding HTML files, and more. It accepts both POST and GET request methods and has extensive error handling.
cgi_buffer is a group of libraries that may be used to improve performance of CGI scripts (and other content generation engines) in some circumstances by applying performance-enhancing HTTP mechanisms that are typically not supported by them. Currently, Perl, Python, and PHP4 are supported. The Python library may also be used as a wrapper around another CGI script.
When building server side applications for the Web, independently of the language used (Java, PHP, Perl, etc), a lot of time is spent writing embedded HTML code and dealing with the fact that HTTP is a stateless protocol. SPFC allows you to write HTML forms like you write a Java GUI.
