rgxg (ReGular eXpression Generator) is a C library and a command-line tool that generate (extended) regular expressions. It can be useful for generating expressions that match, for example, a specific number range (e.g. 0 to 31 or 00 to FF) or all addresses in a CIDR block (e.g. 192.168.0.0/24 or 2001:db8:aaaa::/64).
rlimit is a program that lets you run processes with system resource limits set. It can be used by software developers and testers to test that software will run correctly in resource restricted environments. It is also useful for software which would otherwise consume excessive resources such as programs that used 100% CPU, set their own priority levels, or consume too much memory. This is basically a command line interface to the system functions getrlimit() and setrlimit().
rough is software to embed macros in PHP code. Add a comment to your code, run the macro command, and rough generates code. The macros are not removed from the source code and can easily be updated. selector is a command line utility for dynamic string selection. As you type a list of substrings separated by ";" or a regexp, the display is updated in real time to show only the matching lines. The main usage of selector is as an efficient search in the shell command history. With the correct option, it will inject the selected line into the terminal input buffer, allowing the user to edit the line and execute it as a standard command.
surl is a URL shortening command line application that supports various sites. It supports stdin or filename input. It grabs the URLs, converts them, and returns the same text that was used in the input. It is known to work with a wealth of services, such as bit.ly, tinyurl.com, and others.
synctool is a cluster administration tool that keeps configuration files synchronized across all nodes in a cluster. Nodes may be part of a logical group or class, in which case they need a particular subset of configuration files. synctool can restart daemons when needed, if their relevant configuration files have been changed. synctool can also be used to do patch management or other system administrative tasks.
tagls is a tool that matches file names using boolean expressions made of tags and regular expressions. It handles searching in file lists with word boundaries for "tags", stemming and synonym expansion for both tags and regular expressions, and boolean expressions over lists of tags or regular expressions. It can match against either the file name or the file's content. The output can be unsorted, sorted by name, or sorted by relevance.
