Zoidberg (a.k.a. zoid) provides a modular Perl shell written, configured, and operated entirely in Perl. It aspires to be a fully operational login shell with all the features one normally expects. But it also gives direct access to Perl objects and data structures from the command line, and allows you to run Perl code within the scope of your command line.
The debug memory allocation or dmalloc library is a drop-in replacement for the system's native memory management routines. It provides powerful debugging facilities which are configurable at runtime. These facilities include such things as memory-leak tracking, fence-post write detection, file/line number reporting, and general logging of statistics. The library has been run successfully on a wide variety of operating systems. It also provides support for the debugging of threaded programs.
Splint is a tool for statically checking C programs for security vulnerabilities and coding mistakes. With minimal effort, it can be used as a better lint. If additional effort is invested adding annotations to programs, it can perform stronger checking than can be done by any standard lint. Splint is the successor to LCLint. The main differences between Splint and LCLint are support for buffer overflow detection and extensible annotations.
