Notes is a small ViewKit/Motif applet that provides post-it notes for the IRIX desktop. It's designed to integrate with the toolchest, but it can be run from the command-line too. A "Notes" toolchest menu is included in the "chestrc.notes" file. Notes uses the file format of the excellent MS-Windows post-it note application called "Stickies".
Oboinus is X11 background previewer and setter. In normal working mode, Oboinus provides an interface that helps you to choose a picture to be set as the background. When the --restore option is passed, it sets the background that it has a configuration for and exits immediately (for use in .xinitrc/.xsession or your WM startup files).
The Syllable project creates a family of operating systems that form a network platform. Syllable Desktop is a complete desktop operating system that is exceptionally powerful, fast, and easy to use. It has its own kernel, filesystem, GUI, and applications. Syllable Desktop is based on AtheOS, is largely POSIX.1 compliant, and uses many of the GNU utilities. Syllable Server is a server operating system built to be similar to Syllable Desktop, but on the Linux kernel.
AppLaunch is a Mac OS X version of the common “Run” or “Launch” dialogs provided by other operating systems and window managers such as Windows or KDE. It consists of an input box where the user enters a command line that will be passed to the applications workspace. A command in the AppLaunch meaning is not only a “pure” shell command; as of version 2 it may also be a file, an application, or an URL.
sawfish.wm.ext.pager is a C/Lisp extension that provides a functional desktop pager for the sawfish window manager. A pager is a map of your desktop. It shows not only the visible part of your desktop (the current viewport), but also the parts that extend beyond the sides of your screen. Also, if you have more than one workspace, the pager will follow you to where you are, or optionally show all workspaces at once. Of course you can select viewports and windows, and also move or raise/lower the latter.

Desktop settings can be managed for thousands of desktops at once via session profiles, which are created and stored in the cloud. Key features include time management, print cost recovery, Internet filtering, privacy protection, automated clean-up, remote desktop monitoring and control, prepaid cards, and automatic updates. It replaces both DiscoverStation and Desktop Server.

The list of programs to search for are contained within the script. Users can, to a limited degree, customize their menus via a set of interactive questions.
