AbulÉdu is a Ubuntu-based distribution for primary schools. It is currently in French but most of the tools can be translated. An AbulÉdu server can handle Mac, Windows (samba), GNU/Linux and X terminal (with LTSP) clients. The server acts as a central gateway for Web, mail, and printing, and facilitates the management of classes, pupils, and teachers. Everybody can publish Web pages on an intranet using Apache and all administration tasks are performed using a browser. The result is that a teacher who is not a computer specialist can install and manage a school network.
Activity Manager is a project management tool that is simple to use, lightweight, and very efficient and customizable. It features collaborators repository administration, tasks repository administration, contributions management (activity management), and an extensible report facility (with built in templates). It allows you to build and maintain a hierarchical task tree. It is based on a database with a very simple model that allows quickly building custom reports through the report facility or through simple SQL requests.
Actualiza is a semi-automatic update program for apt-based systems. With a simple GUI, this apt front-end lets you manage the programs / components on your computer, and helps you to keep it updated by showing the available updates by means of an applet. It features a powerful progressive search engine, and a repository manager that allows you to add or remove repositories easily.
Addresses is a GNUstep address book that consists of a full-featured address book manager application, a source-code compatible replacement for Apple's AddressBook.framework (for accessing and manipulating address data programmatically), a framework of view/editor classes that make it easy to use Addresses from your own programs, and a number of tools. It is easy to use by both users and programmers and can store almost all imaginable data, including multiple phone numbers, emails, and addresses, photos, AIM/Jabber/ICQ/Yahoo IM details, and notes. It supports drag-and-drop and integrates well with GNUMail.
Adime is a library for constructing Allegro GUI dialogs in a way similar to scanf(), using a format string. Other features include a (customizable) 3d look and feel, 3d versions of some of Allegro's GUI procs, complete help in many formats (HTML, txt, chm, texinfo, man, devhelp, and RTF), and four example programs. Adime can currently be compiled on Linux, Windows/MinGW32, Windows/Borland C++, Windows/MSVC, DOS/DJGPP, DOS/Watcom, Apple MacOS X, and QNX.
Admelix is a live CD distribution based on Ubuntu Linux with tools for business administration. Its main objective is to guide managers of small and medium-size businesses towards GNU/Linux and open source software. In addition to the live CD, the project's Web site provides information about open and free tools for business administration.
