Famflows is a program which tracks "flows" of energy and materials inside a household. It has an alternative approach from double entry accounting systems. In those systems (like gnucash or jgnash), the transactions are balanced in numeric value. In famflows, instead, the transactions are balanced in the conversion, but not in the numeric value.
iesd is a shell based daemon that uses Linux cgroups (cpu and blkio) to improve the responsiveness of the user's workstation. Inspired by both the "200 line kernel wonder patch" and "shell four liner", this shell daemon was written so that any kernel that supports cgroup cpu can bring benefits to the user.
notification-thing is a full-featured implementation of the Desktop Notifications Specification. It is not tied to any specific desktop environment, and is focused on features like rate-limiting and flexible filtering to minimize distraction and noise ratio in a transparent way, without silently dropping anything ever.
