GTKtalog is an archiver to store a CD file tree structure. It can be used to easily browse a CD-ROM database. Each disk, folder and file has a size, date, category, description, and content parameter and can be completely edited or deleted. The file search module can do searches on filename, foldername with name, category description, date, filesize, and content parameter. Each filetype has its own icon. It possible to use programs like tar, arj, zip, or scripts to extract information from files to include in the database. Gtktalog can mount, scan, umount, and eject a CD-ROM in the background.

MP3c is a curses-based audio CD-to-MP3/OGG converter with CDDB support. It can be used in an interactive menu environment or a batch mode which lets you encode automatically. MP3c tries to find the most useful information in a CDDB entry, and even recognizes sampler CDs correctly. It is very configurable and can be used with every available encoder, ripper, and tag editor. Alkaline is a full-featured standalone search and index server. The spider is a fully remote indexing daemon which includes support for all standards like robots.txt and "skip" meta tags, and allows multiple distinct configurations and search groups (searching many different sites from your server), including complex regexp indexing paths, authentification, filters for various document formats, XML-based online management and statistics, mrtg-compatible perf numbers, and more.
Worker is a file manager for the X Window System with the classical two panel interface. It features a fully graphical configuration, while still allowing manual editing of the configuration file without the need to restart Worker. Any external program can be integrated easily into the GUI using buttons, hotkeys, and file type actions. Worker uses file recognition by file content or by filename extension (or both). Different actions with completely configurable commands can be assigned to each file type.
Viewmol is a program for building and editing molecules as well as for the visualization of outputs from quantum chemical and molecular mechanics programs. Currently supported are Gaussian 9x, Gamess, Discover, DMol/DSolid/DMol3, Gulp, Mopac, Turbomole, and PDB files. Properties visualized include geometry (with various drawing modes), vibration (animated or with arrows), optimization history/MD trajectories, MO energy level diagram, MOs, basis functions, and electron density. Drawings can be saved as TIFF, HPGL, Postscript, and input files for Rayshade. Viewmol has an embedded Python interpreter for automation. The program is language independent and currently "speaks" English, French, German, Russian, or Spanish.
pftp allows you to send and receive files and directories recursively, send and receive standard input and ouput, filter your connection, set the net buffer size, set the bandwidth, send UDP datagrams unicasted, broadcasted, and multicasted (which is meant for AUDIO and VIDEO streaming), send data to another user and manage that data, perform a network test based on either UDP or TCP, and use optimized buffers for your Gigabit Ethernet links. pftp can start from command line, as a daemon, or by inetd. All features are supported for IPv4 and IPv6.
Perdition is a fully featured POP3 and IMAP4 proxy server. It is able to handle both SSL and non-SSL connections and redirect users to a real-server based on a database lookup. Perdition supports modular based database access. The distribution ships with modules for ODBC, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GDBM, POSIX Regular Expression, and NIS. The API for modules is open, allowing abitary modules to be written to allow access to any data store. Perdition can be used to create large mail systems where an end-user's mailbox may be stored on one of several hosts, to integrate different mail systems together, to migrate between different email infrastructures, and to bridge plain-text, SSL, and TLS services. It can also be used as part of a firewall.
