System and Process Monitor in Java provides a JNI (Java Native Interface) implementation for monitoring global system resources and processes (outside JVM) via a unified (cross-platform) interface. The Java interface and all native libraries are compiled into a single JAR and are loaded transparently on any architecture upon request. It should be easy to embedd this code into your Java applications, either as a separate JAR or as one single application archive.
SpotLook is a graphical interface to Mac OS X Leopard's Spotlight desktop search engine. It features tracks, which are timelines showing results according to their date. Tracks can created, edited, and customized, and include a search scope and attributes to search for. Found items can be viewed with Quick Look or revealed in the Finder.
pam-script allows you to execute scripts during authorization, passwd changes, and on session opening or closing. Such scripts can perform necessary tasks or influence the outcome of the PAM stack. For example, if the entry "sshd auth required pam_script" was included in pam.conf, and if the pam_script_auth script exits with a non-zero value, this would cause the user to be denied SSH access to the machine.
