GView is a simple image viewer meant to replace applications like Eye of Gnome and to be used as a tutorial for learning the GTK libraries. The code is heavily commented, and will soon include an accompanying tutorial on how to write GTK applications. Both functional and educational, it is one of the fastest image viewing utilities available.
X3D-Edit is a graphics file editor for Extensible 3D (X3D) that enables simple error-free editing, authoring, and validation of X3D or VRML scene-graph files. Context-sensitive tooltips provide concise summaries of each VRML node and attribute. These tooltips simplify authoring and improve understanding for novice and expert users alike. It uses the X3D 3.0 tagset defined by the X3D 3.0 Document Type Definition (DTD) in combination with Sun's Java, IBM's Xeena XML editor, and editor profile configuration files.
OpenPictureSpace2 displays a directory full of pictures in a thumbnail list view. It can display JPEG, GIF, PNG, and IFF ILBM pictures (including HAM and EHB specific Amiga modes), and all formats supported by the SDL_image library. Instead of showing thumbnails in a grid with a fixed number of rows and columns, OpenPictureSpace2 packs as many thumbnails as possible into a every row. The entire screen space is always used for displaying the picture.
ImageMagick (TM) is a package for the automated and interative manipulation of images. It supports the display and interactive manipulation of images when used with the X Window System. Although the software is copyrighted by ImageMagick Studio, it is available for free and can be redistributed without fee. ImageMagick may be used as a component of both open source and proprietary applications. ImageMagick compiles and runs under Unix, Linux, Windows '95 and later, Apple MacOS, and Compaq VMS. Binary packages are available for most operating systems. Application programming interfaces (APIs) are provided to support development of image processing applications in the C, C++, and Perl languages.
