GroundWork Monitor Community Edition can give you insight into your computing infrastructure, allowing you to see the current and historical states of all your computers: servers, desktops, and laptops, all of your network devices, all of your services (like TCP/IP and Web services), and all of your applications (like mail servers and database apps). You can choose to be alerted when something goes awry via pager, SMS, email, or phone, and even set up automatic restarts or fall-overs.
Lapsus was created to provide easy access to additional features of various laptops. Currently there exists support for Asus and IBM laptops, but IBM support is still highly experimental. It is possible to control a laptop's LED status, wireless, touchpad, and Bluetooth devices, brightness of the LCD, and sound volume. These features must be supported by either the asus-laptop kernel module from the acpi4asus project or the ibm-acpi driver.
libft is an implementation of the fischertechnik ROBO interface library for Unix-like systems. The goal is to create a library that is fully compatible with the ftlib by knobloch electronic. This library should work on any systems supported by libusb, like Linux, BSD, and Mac OS X. A basic Python module is available.
GFreqlet is a GNOME applet for Linux that not only monitors CPU frequency scaling, but also allows the end user to change the frequency or governor with just a click. It automatically detects which frequencies and governors your processor supports, so there is no configuration required. The applet itself is not run as root, nor required to modify to run with root ownership, but password prompts with gksudo if a superuser action is required. GFreqlet is very straightforward and minimal, and just does what it's supposed to.
cpuinfo consists of an API/library used by programs to get information about the underlying CPU. Such information includes CPU vendor, model name, cache hierarchy, and supported features (e.g. CMP, SMT, and SIMD). cpuinfo is also a standalone program to demonstrate the use of this API.
