The LIRC Client Daemon is a per-user daemon that sits between the LIRC daemon (from the Linux InfraRed Control project) and any other programs that use LIRC. It ships with a replacement library for LIRC's liblirc_client, which connects to lirccd instead of lircd. This primarily helps solve the synchronization present in the standard liblirc_client, and also empowers the user with a much more flexible configuration file format.
Lintouch is an implementation of HMI (Human Machine Interface) or MMI (Man Machine Interface) software framework. It features a server/client architecture, componentized design, and is platform and architecture independent. The Lintouch architecture allows you to develop your own connectivity plugins and visualization objects.
x10dev provides a /dev interface to an X10 network through a combination of Linux kernel modules and daemons. It is intended to provide a standard interface and syntax to shell script utilities (such as cat and echo), Perl scripts, C programs, or Java programs so that everything from a quick hack to a more advanced program can manipulate the X10 devices in an automated home regardless of the transceiver used. Its simplest use is with shell scripts (examples of which are provided in the package). Currently the project supports the 3 X10 transceivers (PowerLinc Serial, PowerLinc USB, and CM11A).
LinuxMCE is an add-on to Kubuntu that provides a complete whole-house media solution. It provides PVR and distributed media functions. It is stable, easy to use, and requires no knowledge of Linux and only basic computer skills. It allows you to set up a computer system that centralizes audio/video equipment, allowing you to access all media functions in other rooms with only thin clients. It supports home automation protocols including KNX, EIB, Z-Wave, DMX, EnOcean, and PLCBUS.
MatPLC is a software-based PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) for industrial automation. Ultimately, it should be possible to run a factory using this software. Currently, one should keep in mind that it is still at the testing stage, and is therefore not suitable for applications where incorrect operation would cause damage or danger.
