Archetypes is a framework for developing new content types in Plone. The power of Archetypes is first in automatically generating forms, second in providing a library of stock field types, form widgets, and field validators, third in easily integrating custom fields, widgets, and validators, and fourth in automating transformations of rich content.
x4juli is a port of the main parts of log4j to the J2SE Logging API. The default implementation is incomplete and therefore still not widely used, even when introduced in J2SE 1.4. x4juli provides logmanagers, formatters, handlers, and filters to fill the gap. The interface and use of the original API has not been changed. Additionally, x4juli delivers a native implementation of the Jakarta Commons Logging (JCL) API and the Simple Logging Facade for Java (SLF4J) API.
I18N is a class that gets translation texts from flat files or from an SQL database. The system supports variables in translated strings and has a conversion facility to move data from one container to another. An included tool checks programs against sets of translated strings to detect references without strings or unused strings. Each call checks that referenced variables exist.
Kumulate gives a graphical overview of progress on a tree of translation (.po) files. For each one, as well as showing the actual statistics, it will show a box: the horizontal (left-right) axis is a color-coded representation of progress on the translation, and the vertical (up-down) axis represents the relative size of the module or file.
Transolution is a Computer Aided Translation (CAT) suite supporting the XLIFF standard. It provides the open source community with features and concepts that have been used by commercial offerings for years to improve translation efficiency and quality. The suite is modular to make it flexible and provides an XLIFF Editor, translation memory engine and filters to convert different formats to and from XLIFF. The use of XLIFF means that almost any content can be localized as long as there is a filter for it (XML, SGML, PO, RTF, StarOffice/OpenOffice, etc.).
Konjugator helps with learning or interpreting verb forms in Welsh. It produces a list of around 200,000 inflected verb forms for almost 4,000 Welsh verbs, along with English glosses and parsing information. It attempts to conjugate Welsh verbs that are unknown to it, and will give parsing details for random Welsh verb forms if these are known to it.
The libmba package is a collection of mostly independent C modules potentially useful to any project. There are the usual ADTs including a linkedlist, hashmap, pool, stack, and varray, a flexible memory allocator, CSV parser, path canonicalization routine, I18N text abstraction, configuration file module, portable semaphores, condition variables, and more. The code is designed so that individual modules can be integrated into existing codebases rather than requiring the user to commit to the entire library. The code has no typedefs, few comments, and extensive man pages and HTML documentation.
Traditional vi is derived from the 4BSD source and includes support for modern operating systems, 8-bit input, multi-byte character encodings like UTF-8, and features demanded by POSIX.2. It contains few additions beyond this, so it is of interest for those who look for a small but well-defined vi implementation close to that of most commercial Unix systems. It also has some features to cope with primitive terminals or slow connections.
