Better ASN is a Java ASN.1 API that focuses on speed and efficiency rather than extended functionality. This strategy prescribes one-pass decoding and near 100% encoding efficiency for typical ASN.1 usage patterns. Although BASN was developed for use by a Certificate Authority, the release comes packaged with an ASN.1 to Java compiler, which can be used to generate Java implementations of ASN.1 structures. This allows the API to be used for any Java application that may require ASN.1 decoding/manipulation/encoding.
The Big Faceless Report Generator is a Java application for converting source documents written in XML to PDF. Built on top of the Big Faceless PDF & Graph Libraries, the Report Generator combines these features and wraps an XML parser around them. Using JSP, ASP, XSL, or similar, creating dynamic PDF documents directly from a database is now as easy as HTML.
Big Fraction is a Java class that represents an immutable fraction, as held in a numerator and denominator. Calculations may be performed on this fraction, but the value is always held as a numerator/denominator pair. Therefore, no precision is lost. The fraction may be top-heavy, but is reduced when printed. The value can be converted into floats if desired, although precision will invariably be lost, and some large fractions (such as calculations for pi) can not be converted if the values of BigInteger exceed the range capable of floats.
BioCluster is a peer-to-peer clustering platform for Asterisk, the open source PBX, which allows Asterisk to be used as a full carrier-grade telephony solution. It is meant to be installed on several machines together with Asterisk, turning them into a VoIP cluster. While the BioCluster peer-to-peer protocol was initially designed to cater to Asterisk-based clustering solutions, the BioCluster framework is capable of being extended to support various forms of normally unclustered devices or software packages.
