The recode library converts files between character sets and usages. The library recognises or produces nearly 150 different character sets and is able to transliterate files between almost any pair. When exact transliteration are not possible, it may get rid of the offending characters or fall back on approximations. Most RFC 1345 character sets are supported. The recode program is a handy front-end to the library.
Libart is a library for high-performance 2D graphics. It supports a very powerful imaging model, basically the same as SVG and the Java 2D API. It includes all PostScript imaging operations, and adds antialiasing and alpha-transparency. It is also highly tuned for incremental rendering. It contains data structures and algorithms suited to rapid, precise computation of Region of Interest, and a two-phase rendering pipeline optimized for interactive display.
The Psychosynth project aims to create an interactive, modular soft-synth inspired by the ideas of the Reactable. It provides a clean object oriented API to allow the creation of new innovative interfaces for the synthesizer and a 3D simulator of a Reactable-alike device with support for collaborative music creation over the network.
