SlimServer on DiskStation is an add-on package to the Synology DiskStation family of PowerPC and ARM9 based NAS devices providing the environment to run SlimDevice's SlimServer on it. It integrates into the DS administrative Web interface and comes with various user-friendly tools and scripts to maintain the installation. It supports all currently official features of Slimserver, such as Asian character display and on-the-fly transcoding of various music file formats. Popular third party plugins are supported as well.
EasyPMP is a program used to create and maintain the music database on a variety of portable music players. This allows tracks to be browsed by artist, album, genre, etc., rather than by directory structure. The following devices are supported: iRiver H100 series; iRiver H300 series; iRiver H10 UMS; iRiver H10 MTP (with emergency connect mode); iRiver H10Jr. UMS; iRiver U10 UMS; MEDION MDJuke220 and MDJuke 440; and Samsung YH-820, YH-920, and YH-925. It is developed as part of a project called PMPlib, which aims to develop a library that can be used by desktop media players and other programs, in order to support these devices.
Podtool is a Python-based utility for managing tracks between a local music repository and an iPod. In particular, it implements correct playcount and ratings synchronisation, which is important when using smart playlists. K-Yamo is an MP3 and Ogg Vorbis tagger with ID3v2 support. It can store ID3v1, ID3v2.3, or ID3v2.4 tags. It also stores pictures in the tags. K-Yamo supports multi-file editing. It can guess tags out of filenames, and fetches the missing parts from musicbrainz. It also cleans up your files into a structured filesystem tree which makes use of the tags in the files. Finally, it is a CD ripper with FreeDB support. A MySQL database can optionally be used for tagging.
TiVonage allows Vonage customers to use a TiVo to manage their voice mail, including checking for new messages, listening to messages, viewing caller ID and address info, and returning calls via Click2Call. To use TiVonage, you must have a network-connected Series 2 TiVo and a computer with Java installed.
LibQtPod provides access to the contents of an Apple iPod. The code was formerly part of the kio ipodslave, but is now a separate Qt-based library. The library features reading and writing of the iTunesDB music database and provides access to hardware specific information like disc space statistics.
FUPlayer is a full featured music manager and player for the GNOME desktop. With it, you can play music from your hard drive, create playlists, do real file management using its Trash, and play, rip, and burn audio CDs. It features an interface similar to those of many modern manager-style players, but with many improvements, such as true non-modal search and browse functionality, find-as-you-type, and drag destination highlighting. It aims to be extremely user friendly and efficient to use.
