BiblePlayer is a freeware program that lets you read and listen to the Bible on the iPod. It includes daily devotionals, bible reading plans, bible stories, and other modules. Each reading is linked to an audio file, making it an integrated experience. (Audio CDs are sold seperately.)
The FAAC project includes the AAC encoder FAAC and decoder FAAD2. It supports several MPEG-4 object types (LC, Main, LTP, HE AAC, PS) and file formats (ADTS AAC, raw AAC, MP4), multichannel and gapless en/decoding as well as MP4 metadata tags. The codecs are compatible with standard-compliant audio applications using one or more of these profiles.
gtk123 is a frontend for mpg123, mpg321, and other mp3 players that use the same command-line format. It should be possible to use gtk123 in situations where most other MP3 players would be ineffective due to lack of CPU power. gtk123 is being developed and tested on a 486DX4/75 laptop. On such a system, it can be somewhat unresponsive when decoding VBR, but CBR works well (at least in mono mode).
Transcribe! is an assistant for working out a piece of music from a recording. It offers many features aimed at making the transcription job smoother and easier, including the ability to slow down the music without changing its pitch, and to analyse chords and show you what notes are present.
iList is an intelligent playlist for the KDE media player Noatun. It is intelligent in the sense that songs are selected from a (possibly large) repository of audio files in a smart manner. Think of it as your personal radio station that plays your favourite songs all day long. iList supports implicit song ranking, incremental search, a song history, independent queueing, multiple collections, and fast access to large repositories with auto detection of new files.
KPlaylistCreator is a jukebox for KDE. It scans for MP3 and Ogg Vorbis files, located in various directories, creates a unique tree view with genre, artist, album, and song title information, features a user rates mechanism, a user playlist manager, and a wizard playlist creator, edits tags for both MP3 (ID3 v2) and Ogg Vorbis files, checks directories for new and missing files automatically, sends playlists to a directory, XMMS, or to K3B, displays and sets the album art of MP3 files, creates playlists from a virtual library, and includes popup windows to indicate change of song.
