Orpheus is a text-mode menu- and window- driven audio player application for CDs, Ogg, MP3, and Internet stream broadcasts. It can retrieve CDDB information for compact discs with HTTP (even through a proxy), read ID tags from MP3 and Ogg files, and save and load playlists. The color schemes are configurable.

It features both graphical (with themes) and text-based user interfaces, a download manager for automating MP3 downloads, and a powerful music browser/playlist manager. Other features include HTTP/RTP streaming playback with HTTP stream saving and title streaming, and a fast, clean-sounding Open Source decoding engine. It supports Win32/OSS sound systems, ALSA, and EsounD.
My Media System is a media-driven system for easy movie and audio playback, image viewing, game playing or watching TV. It supports many common file formats, including MP3, OGG, DivX, XviD, VCD, SVCD, DVD, JPEG, PNG, and GIF. It is controlled using a remote control, USB device, or keyboard. It supports DXR3, DVB, X11, SDL, and framebuffer output.
Squirrel Jukebox plays all your local MP3 files via its own libmad-based decoder. It allows the tracks to be ranked and grouped in the user-preferred way. It also supports text searches by any ID3 tags or filenames. It is a commandline application. Currently only Linux is supported (OSS).
