iRipDB allows you to generate the DB files necessary for the iRiver iHP-1xx series of MP3/Ogg HD Player on Linux and Windows. This will allow you to navigate your files through the artist/album/genre menus. It currently supports adding MP3 and Ogg files. It is a simple, small, and fast command line program, so it can be used with scripts that are automatically called when unmounting the player's filesystem.
Mp3tag is an Objective-Caml library for reading and writing ID3v1 and v2 tags in MP3 files. It includes mp3tag tools, which can be used to modify tags in MP3 files or rename files according to their tags, and a cddbtag tool that modifies tags by using a CDDB server to retrieve information about the track.
MoosicApplet is a GNOME panel applet which displays the current status of the Moosic jukebox server. It also provides some basic features for controlling the song player. It features a configurable layout and the ability to rewrite the song name in various ways to make it easier to read.
mp3cleanup is used to tidy up various aspects of MP3 files, including filenames, ID3 tags, path, m3u playlists, and bitrate. This is particularly useful for hardware MP3 players that sometimes have arbitrary limitations on the files they work (well) with. It can operate on single files or on all the files contained in a directory.
