wavnorm is a simple command line utility to destructively maximize or alter the colume of a stereo .wav file. It's handy for making the volumes of a range of .wav files consistent before or after mp3 conversion, audio CD burning, etc. nplay is a simple .wav player with VU meter and peak meter. nrecord is a simple .wav recorder with VU meter and peak meter. Although simple the VU meter greatly aids getting optimum recording quality. nplay and nrecord use the newt text mode library.
webCDwriter can be used to make the CD- and DVD-writer(s) connected to a Linux box available to all users in your network. It consists of the server CDWserver and the clients webCDcreator and rcdrecord. CDWserver stores the files transmitted by the clients, reserves the CD-writer and controls the CD-writer using cdrecord. webCDcreator is a Java applet that runs within your browser or by Java Web Start, assists you when putting together a CD, and transmits the files. Finally rcdrecord is a command line client that tries to offer the functionality of cdrecord over the network with full multi-user support.
webcam_server is a server that can be used to host a video4Linux supported Webcam. It features caption text, image rotation and flipping, HTTP support, and logging. It allows a client to connect with the included Java applet and watch a real time video feed. The applet allows for frames/sec control. In addition, the browser can be pointed directly at the webcam_server listen port to grab the current frame as a JPEG.
Webplay creates, from a collection of MP3s and Ogg Vorbis files (indexed from a directory or MySQL/PostgreSQL database), a Web-based jukebox with support for multiple independent streams. If Lame/oggenc are available, it can change the bitrate or codec of a file in real time to a selectable value. Each user controls their stream via a Web interface and can skip back, forward, or to a specific track; increment or decrement the bitrate; and check the current playlist, song, or bitrate. Playlists can be looped, randomized, played locally on the webserver, edited, deleted, reused, or renamed.
white_dune is a graphical VRML97/X3DV editor, simple NURBS/Superformula 3D modeller, animation tool, and VRML97/X3DV commandline compiler in development. VRML97 (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is the ISO standard for displaying 3D data over the Web via browser plugins ("HTML for realtime 3D"). X3DV is the direct successor of VRML97. VRML97 and X3DV have support for animation, real-time interaction, and multimedia (images, movies, and sounds). white_dune can read, create, and display VRML97/X3DV files and let the user change the scenegraph/fields. It also has support for stereoscopic view via "quadbuffer"-capable stereo visuals, and support for 3D input devices like a joystick, spaceball, or magnetic tracker.
whitenoise is a small utility that turns your computer into an ambient random noise generator. This can be useful for relaxation, helping you get to sleep, drowning out noisy neighbors, etc. Command-line options allow the user to tweak noise characteristics and set a shutoff timer.
wiiFrame is a simple GUI frame that has an OpenGL 3D window and a dialog box that connects Nintendo Wii remotes to the application. This is to be used as a basis for anyone who wants to write 3D applications that are controled by a Wii remote. This project uses wxWidgets, so it can be compiled cross platform, but as of now, only a Linux build works.
