remotehost_applet helps to administrate your remote hosts. You specify the host's address, your login name, and a network protocol, and with additional information about the remote host's operation system a panel icon is created and linked with useful commands. A click on that icon will connect you to the machine, and the context menu offers commands like ping and traceroute. It supports telnet, rsh, ssh, and Virtual Network Computing (VNC).
dialin-spammer-block can be used to detect and block dialin clients that try to send send spam over your mailserver. A spammer is detected by watching the mailserver logfile and counting the mails sent by each dialin client. If a client exceeds the limit of mails that may be sent during a certain amount of time, the client will be blocked to relay further mails on the mailserver until the RADIUS server reports that the client has disconnected.
The Eye Of Horus is a monitoring and alerting tool for computers. WildCAT is a Java toolkit and framework which can be used to build context-aware applications. From the client application's point of view, it provides a simple and dynamic data-model to represent the execution context of the application (for example, software and hardware resources), and offers a simple API for the programmers to access this information both synchronously and asynchronously (pull and push). Internally, it is a framework to integrate multiple sources of structured or unstructured monitoring data in a common data model.
Route Tracer is an application that allows you to trace the route over the network between two systems, listing all the intermediate routers a connection must pass through to get to its destination. It provides the physical geographical locations of network servers and routers. It shows the actual route path on both the three-dimensional globe and the flat map, and calculates the distance between your computer and intermediate servers. It displays the selected server location on Google map, and provides the intermediate routers whois report from the worldwide databases.
