EventedObject is a simplistic yet highly useful Perl base class that allows you to attach event callbacks to an object (also known as a blessed hash reference) and then fire events on that object. Event fires are much like method calls. However, there can be many handlers, many return values, and many responses rather than just one of each. EventedObject is designed to be highly extensible and features callback priorities, dynamic adding and removing of callbacks, and more. It provides a whole new style of objective and event-driven programming in Perl.
Triceps is an innovative embeddable Complex Event Processing (CEP) system. It can be thought of as an in-memory database driven by triggers, or a data-flow machine working on a stream of events, or a spreadsheet on steroids. The major architectural advantages of Triceps include the direct use of procedural logic (as opposed to all-SQL systems), support of both compiled and general scripting languages (C++, Perl), light weight, and easy extensibility.
Class::EHierarchy is intended for use as a base class for custom objects. The objects need one or more of the following features: orderly bottom-up destruction of objects, opaque objects, class-based access restrictions for properties and methods, primitive strict property type awareness, and alias-based object retrieval.
The Paranoid modules provide a number of routines that are intended for use in strict and taint-safe scripts. The modules cover a variety of tasks from command-line argument parsing to process and network management. All of the modules use a debug trace framework for diagnostic output that is easily used and extended for application code as well.
The satpass script provides satellite visibility predictions, given the position of the observer and the NORAD element sets for the desired satellites. It can acquire the NORAD element sets directly from any site supported by Astro::SpaceTrack. It can acquire the observer's latitude and longitude from http://geocoder.us/, look up star positions in the SIMBAD catalog, and more.
Mail::DeliveryStatus::BounceParser analyzes RFC822 bounce messages and returns a structured description of the addresses that bounced and the reason they bounced; it also returns information about the original returned message, including the Message-ID. It works best with RFC1892 delivery reports, but will gamely attempt to understand any bounce message no matter what MTA generated it.
HTML::FormFu is a framework for HTML forms. It aims to be as easy as possible to use for basic Web forms, but with the power and flexibility to do anything else you might want to do (as long as it involves forms). You can configure almost any part of formfu's behavior and output. By default, formfu renders "XHTML 1.0 Strict" compliant markup, with as little extra markup as possible, but with sufficient CSS class names to allow for a wide range of output styles to be generated by changing only the CSS.
