Bae's Progress Bar Generator is very light-weight code that is designed to quickly and easily generate CSS bars showing your progress on a project. There is one bar for the progress you made today, and one for total progress. Any quantifiable goal can be measured, such as words or pages written per day. This was originally written for NaNoWriMo. This script gives you code that can be inserted into any HTML page. This script has been tested in IE, Opera, and Firefox, and it still works pretty well in Lynx or Links.
BitTorrent is a tool for copying files from one machine to another. FTP punishes sites for being popular. Since all uploading is done from one place, a popular site needs big iron and big bandwidth. With BitTorrent, clients automatically mirror files they download, making the publisher's burden almost nothing.
Bitgate Server Software Environment aims to build a multi-protocol application environment in which server protocol handlers can be eventually loaded and unloaded on the fly using a center console or controller Web page. It aims to have 99.9% uptime, and have high-availability compliance. It is written in Java 6, and relies completely on Java's I/O functionality to provide non-blocking support for both SSL and non-SSL sockets (without having to know how to use SSLEngine). All configuration is done via XML files, as this is easier to maintain. It includes a minimal demonstration HTTP server.
