The Whitewash module allows Ruby programs to clean up any HTML document or fragment coming from an untrusted source and to remove all dangerous constructs that could be used for cross-site scripting or request forgery. All HTML tags, attribute names and values, and CSS properties are filtered through a whitelist that defines which names and what kinds of values are allowed; everything that doesn’t match the whitelist is removed. The whitelist is provided externally, and the default whitelist is loaded from the whitelist.yaml shipped with Whitewash. The default is the most strict (for example, it does not allow cross-site links to images in IMG tags) and can be considered safe for all uses.
render_inheritable is a Rails 3 plugin that allows one to inherit or override single templates for controller hierarchies. With this gem, a template is searched in the current controller's view folder (as usual). If it is not found there, the template with the same name in the view folder of the superclass controller is used. Finally, views and partials remain DRY.
doLinuxKernel is a handy tool for those who know how to configure their kernel but want to do it fast and painlessly. It automates tedious tasks like updating and reconfiguring. Given a working configuration, an update to a new kernel requires only that the questions from "make oldconfig" be answered. The desired kernel is downloaded and unpacked before being compiled and installed.

It is available as both a script and a VIM plugin. It makes a few assumptions about how a bib file should look like.
