dnacgr is a program to visualise patterns in DNA and RNA by using Chaos Game representation. It shows the probability of bases and sequences, and can read .fasta and .seq format files. dnacgr can be used for genome analysis, and it reads millions of bases from files in seconds. It runs on the console, and requires SVGAlib. It prints to a file in PNG format.
The Java Penrose Empires Package allows you to compute the empires (forced tiles) for an arbitrary initial patch of tiles. Tilings may be saved for later, and may be exported to PDF, EPS, or PNG. This software represents a new method of computing forced tiles. Rather than using a "growth" approach (where some tiles are randomly forced), this system only shows the forced tiles in the system, leaving all unforced areas blank.
Parse Direct User Access Terminal mitigates information overload from aviation weather brief downloads. The USA Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Direct User Access Terminal (DUAT) standard, outlook, and abbreviated weather brief are broken into a hierarchy of files. Each file contains one METAR/NOTAM/PIREP/TAF/etc. Options allow input of HTML source or text, output of HTML or text, and a flat directory or multi-level directory. As separate files, NOTAMS/etc. scripts can quickly identify changed information, or prioritize for relevance. Parsing is lossless and the complete original text can be reconstructed using cpp(1).
