Listaller unifies the way you manage software on your Linux system by providing a user-friendly, application-centered software manager GUI. It also provides a software setup package format (the IPK package format), which works on all Linux distributions, as well as tools to make your application binaries work on every Linux distribution. The project has merged with Autopackage some time ago. One of Listaller's strengths is its close integration with AppStream and PackageKit. This means that you will be able to manage Listaller-installed applications with your favorite package-manager, like GNOME-PackageKit, Apper, or even the Ubuntu Software Center. Listaller is primarily designed to be run on Linux distributions, but it could be ported to *BSD.

breloc does binary edits on files to relocate compiled-in prefixes, padding with extra slashes to make up for differences in the length of the prefixes. In order for breloc to be most effective, a binary package should be configured with a prefix that has a lot of extra slashes at the end of it. beloc is distributed as part of the nsbd package, but it is also quite useful independently.

It has its own built linking application, but it also can act as a GUI frontend to your favorite symbolic link package system (supporting graft, epkg, and stow). It is written with bash scripts and Makefiles. The GUI is dialog and Xdialog (depending on your environment). Aside from building ports, it will also build and install "GNU-friendly" source tarballs.

SrcControl is a new form of package management system. It doesn't have a centralized package repository and packages don't have the actual data for the program it installs. What a package, or "source package", contains is information required to locate and properly download, extract, configure, compile, and install the newest version from the Internet. The whole point is to create an 'add-on' package management system supported by any Linux/Unix distribution. Programs that aren't supplied by a distribution can be easily installed without users having to figure out how to compile the program on their own.
