METAGRAPH is a small set of macros that help in drawing (un)directed graphs with METAPOST and the boxes package. It provides low-impact definitions that automatically produce (labelled) nodes/vertices and (labelled) edges/arcs that connect correctly boxed items. Moreover, circular boxes with fixed radius are available to produce more aesthetically pleasant graphs.
LaTeX::Table is a Perl module that provides functionality for an intuitive generation of LaTeX tables. It ships with some predefined, good-looking table styles. This module supports multi-page tables via the xtab and longtable LaTeX packages. For publication quality tables, it utilizes the booktabs package. It also supports the tabularx and tabulary packages for nicer fixed-width tables. Furthermore, it supports the colortbl package for colored tables optimized for presentations. The ltpretty program makes it easy to use this module from within a text editor such as Vim or emacs.
Pandoc is a Haskell library for converting from one markup format to another, and a command-line tool that uses this library. It can read markdown and (subsets of) reStructuredText, HTML, and LaTeX, and it can write markdown, reStructuredText, HTML, LaTeX, DocBook, OpenDocument XML, RTF, ODT, GNU Texinfo, MediaWiki markup, and S5 HTML slide shows. Pandoc extends standard markdown syntax with footnotes, embedded LaTeX, and more. A compatibility mode is provided for those who need a drop-in replacement for Markdown.pl. Included wrapper scripts make it easy to convert markdown to PDFs and Web pages to markdown documents. It has a modular design where the addition of a new input or output format requires only the addition of a reader or writer module.
Aigaion is a Web-based shared bibliography manager built on PHP/MySQL. It is based on the BibTeX format, but has support for other formats as well. Some of its key features are extensive support for organizing a bibliography in a topic structure, personal and public annotations on each publication, multi-user support, easy import/export, and an intuitive user interface.
prerex is an interactive (command-line) editor and a LaTeX macro support package that can be used to create very attractive and readable prerequisite charts. A graphical front-end for the editor also provides a prerex-enabled PDF viewer. A prerequisite chart is a network of course boxes linked by prerequisite and co-requisite arrows.
Wyneken is a text processor that leverages several technologies to bring about a very professional looking document. Wyneken documents are written in a bbcode-style markup that gets converted into a LaTeX document. HeVeA, Latex2rtf, and latex-beamer are all used to bring you more functionality. In specific, HeVeA allows for the output of HTML and Ascii Text Files. Latex2RTF does the same for RTF files. latex-beamer is presentation software that sits under Wyneken Presentations.
