SiSU (Structured information, Serialized Units) is a lightweight markup based, text structuring and publishing framework (that features granular search). With minimal markup of a plaintext file, it produces: plain-text, HTML, XHTML, XML, ODF, LaTeX, PDF, and populates an SQL database at an object/paragraph level for granular searches. Prepare documents using your text editor of choice, then use SiSU to generate the desired output formats. SiSU is controlled from the command line.
fig2ps is a script for converting xfig files to PS or PDF, processing text using LaTeX. It is intended to help typeset good quality documents, where the font on the pictures is exactly the same as the font in the text. The advantage it has over some other xfig exporters such as eepic is that you compile the picture only once and not every time you compile your LaTeX file, giving a great gain in speed with complex pictures. It should work with LyX.
Aigaion is a Web-based shared bibliography manager built on PHP/MySQL. It is based on the BibTeX format, but has support for other formats as well. Some of its key features are extensive support for organizing a bibliography in a topic structure, personal and public annotations on each publication, multi-user support, easy import/export, and an intuitive user interface.
refbase is a Web-based bibliographic manager that can import and export references in various formats (including BibTeX, Endnote, ISI, RIS, PubMed, MODS XML, OpenOffice, and Word 2007 XML). It can make formatted lists of citations in HTML, RTF, PDF, or LaTeX, and offers powerful searching and RSS support. Its OpenSearch and SRU/W services and support for unAPI and COinS metadata allow for easy access by clients and search engines.
Wyneken is a text processor that leverages several technologies to bring about a very professional looking document. Wyneken documents are written in a bbcode-style markup that gets converted into a LaTeX document. HeVeA, Latex2rtf, and latex-beamer are all used to bring you more functionality. In specific, HeVeA allows for the output of HTML and Ascii Text Files. Latex2RTF does the same for RTF files. latex-beamer is presentation software that sits under Wyneken Presentations.
GDC is a utility to calculate compressible flow (Gas Dynamics Calculator). It provides calculations for isentropic nozzle, isothermal nozzle, isothermal, Fanno (choke and unchoked), Rayleigh flow, etc. It also provide calculations for shock and oblique shock by direct calculations (no iteration, probably the only one that can do it). GDC also calculates shock dynamics, i.e gas running into a different medium with different speed. The result are in plain text, LaTeX, or a range of values.
RefDB is a reference database and bibliography tool for SGML, XML, and LaTeX documents. Command-line tools allow interactive or scriptable access to the data which are stored in a SQL database. RefDB can also be accessed through a Web interface, a SRU interface, or via editor extensions (Emacs/vim). Libraries for Perl and PHP are available for programmers. RefDB provides sophisticated character encoding handling, using Unicode by default.
ASCIIMathML is a script that converts calculator-style ASCII math notation (and many LaTeX formulas) to Presentation MathML while your Web page loads. It works with HTML and XHTML files in Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape 7+ browsers, as well as in Internet Explorer 6 with MathPlayer. For example, the solutions for the equation 'ax^2+bx+c=0' are expressed in the HTML file as '(-b +- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)', and display as nicely formatted MathML. The script can be easily used in wikiservers and blogs, as a rudimentary MathML editor (with instant preview), and to preview math formulas as they are typed into a Web page input area.
