UDFclient is a userland implementation of the UDF filesystem as defined by the OSTA group. It is designed to be a study platform and a run-up to a full read and write (NetBSD) kernel level implementation. It provides a user interface not unlike ftp but differs in that it always fetches or writes files recursively. It supports the basic get, mget, put, mput, mv, rm, mkdir, cd, lcd, free, pwd, and lls command set.
bcnu is a Web-based system management tool which delivers information on the status of networked systems in a simple and easy-to-use manner. It uses a web browser to display information about hosts in a tabular form. Historical information can be held indefinitely, and there is a powerful query tool available to interrogate it. Client systems can run an agent which logs information back to a central system. An agent scheduler is integrated to allow agents to be run at different intervals. Standard agents include ftp, http, disk space, logfiles, processes, and more.
libpubsub provides everything needed to set up a simple publish/subscribe environment. It allows a programmer to let several processes (not necessarily on the same host) exchange information with each other in a very easy way. It is mainly intended for use in C++ applications, but the package also includes a tool to let shell scripts use pubsub.
sms-queue handles an SMS queue for small networks or single user machines. It is designed for areas where many SMS messages are sent. It does not actually send the SMS itself, but instead calls an external application (depending on the SMS gateway you want to use) via a simple standard interface. The communication between client and server is based on a simple ASCII protocol over TCP/IP which should make it easy to develop your own frontend.
