It contains an Internet browser, email and newsgroup client with an included Web feed reader, HTML editor, IRC chat, and Web development tools, and is sure to appeal to advanced users, Web developers, and corporate users. Urd is a Web-based Usenet binary download manager. It stores the newsgroup information in a MySQL database and aggregates the articles into sets of a single download (e.g. one album or movie). The Web interface can be used to search with regular expressions. It uses its own downloading daemon that has support for scheduling downloads and updating databases. URD can also download directly from NZB files and even create NZB files. Further features include custom scripts, multiple languages, a template based Web interface, support for multiple servers, automatic par2 and unrar support, and an intuitive user interface.
phpGroupWare (formerly known as webdistro) is a multi-user groupware suite written in PHP. Its provides a Web-based calendar, todo-list, addressbook, email, news headlines, and a file manager. The calendar supports repeating events. The email system supports inline graphics and file attachments. The system as a whole supports user preferences, themes, user permissions, multi-language support, an advanced API, and user groups.
NewsCache is a free cache server for USENET News. NewsCache acts to news reading clients like a news server, except that it stores only those articles that have been requested by at least one client. NewsCache targets problems of the current News System like network bandwidth consumption or the IO load caused by news clients.

WendzelNNTPd supports MySQL as well as SQlite3 backends.

stdnoj is a cross-platform C++ class library that includes classes for using portable strings, databases, SMTP, POP, NNTP, arrays, files, directories, logging, email, and sockets.
