Hodie prints the current date and time to stdout in Roman numerals, with grammatically correct Latin. Complete with Id., Kal., Non., pridie, postridie, bis, and all the other nice annoyances. As an option, it even provides you with current date according to Roman calendar -- that is 'ab urbe condita'; after Rome was built.
The Home Library Information Manager (HLIM) is a utility that allows you to track your home library (books, magazines, and CDs) using either barcode scanners or hand entry. Everyone's favorite feline-shaped scanner is supported, as is manual entry from the keyboard. CD title and track information is automatically looked up from the CD Index (http://www.cdindex.org/). Please note that this is alpha in quality and only supports the PostgreSQL database, although any database with commit/rollback support should easily work. Also, documentation is currently thin.
The HotKeys daemon listens for the "special" hotkeys that you won't normally use on your Internet/Multimedia keyboards. The buttons perform their intended behaviors, such as volume up and down, mute the speaker, or launch applications. It features an XML-based keycode configuration file format, which makes it possible to define the hotkeys to launch any programs you want.
icontact is a highly-configurable Perl script that takes a bunch of image files and creates contact sheets. icontact determines the file format by the file name extension of the input files, and then uses internal tables to look up the commands it needs to execute in order to convert the images to the PPM format. Once they're converted, icontact uses various pbmplus commands to create contact sheets. icontact is particularly useful if you have lots of image files in all sorts of different formats and you want to create an index of all of them without converting them all to a common format first. This package also includes a filter to convert xv's .xvpics files into PPM format.
Imwheel makes the wheel of your Intellimouse (and other wheel and stick mice) work in Linux/X11 to scroll windows up and down, or send keys to programs. It runs in the background as a daemon and requires little reconfiguration of the XWindows setup. 4 or more button mice and Alps Glidepad 'Taps' may also be used. imwheel includes a modified gpm for an alternate method of wheel input.
integrit is an alternative to file integrity verification programs like tripwire and aide. It helps you determine whether an intruder has modified a computer system. integrit's major advantages are a small memory footprint and simplicity. It works by creating a database that is a snapshot of the most essential parts of your computer system. You put the database somewhere safe, and you can then use it to make sure that no one has made any illicit modifications to the computer system. In the case of a break in, you know exactly which files have been modified, added, or removed.
