mpeg2videotools is a C library and set of tools for encoding, decoding, verification, and analysis of MPEG-2 video. Designed for completeness and correctness rather than speed, it supports 422 Profile and High Profile bitstreams. A PSNR tool is included for comparing uncompressed video to encoded MPEG-2 video.
watch_dvb is a simple script that allows DVB users to easily watch a TV channel using the low-end application dvbstream. It uses the channel lists provided with 'szap' and handles the channel tuning. As a gimmick there is an interactive mode that is used when the specified pattern matches more than one channel. Additionally you can stream the DVB data to another workstation on the network.
Blender is a free 3D animation studio. vrbroadcast is a video on demand and media distribution server. It supports hierarchical networks of servers that will automaticaly update information on the available media. It has a GUI that is only available in German, but the server was written with multi-language support in mind.
