File-Find-Object-Rule is a port of File-Find-Rule to make it use File-Find-Object instead of File::Find. It provides a succinct, declarative syntax for creating directory tree traversal routines while enjoying the advantages of File-Find-Object, such as traversing the tree incrementally and iteratively, and the capability of instantiating several traversers in the same program.
Bviplus is a console ncurses based binary file editor (hex editor) with Vim-like keys and features. It can quickly open/edit/save very large files (> 2GiB). It can perform regexp-like pattern searches in hex or ASCII windows. It features search highlighting, multiple undo/redo, a tabbed multiple file interface, visual selection, cut and paste (which works between files as well), blob coloring, and more. It can run external programs on selected data, supporting any program that reads stdin and writes stdout. It has few dependencies for easy portability.
XML-Grammar-Fiction is a Perl package that provides processors for lightweight markup languages and corresponding XML grammars for writing prose (e.g. stories, novels, and novellas) as well as screenplays. The XML grammars can in turn be translated to XHTML and DocBook/XML. XML-Grammar-Fiction currently offers only very basic functionality, but has good support for UTF-8 and allows one to write bidirectional texts conveniently. It is still under development and may exhibit some quirks.
Ranger is a file manager with an ncurses interface. It is designed to give you a broader overview of the file system by displaying previews and backviews, dividing the screen into several columns. The keybindings are similar to those of other console programs like vim, mutt, or ncmpcpp, so the usage will be intuitive and efficient.
PySuite is a collection of Python Vim plugins. You need Vim compiled with python to use them. It includes: an outliner similar to TVO; a todo list manager; a project manager (load/unload by directory/project, make an outline of Python files, etc); a calendar that supports adding notes to dates; a plugin to track expenses and balances; a sortable table with fields separated by 2+ spaces; resize (set a list of main Vim window sizes and use two shortcuts to resize -/+); helpgrep (enter a few words and use :helpgrep cmd to search for them in any order); pystripdoc (make a copy of the buffer with stripped out Python docstrings and comments); pyfolddoc (fold Python docstrings and comments); and aligncode (align code by '=' or '#' chars).
vxref provides integration of the xref tool into vim. The xref tool is a cross referencing and refactoring tool with a free version available that parses C and Java code, and a paid version that parses C++. vxref brings solid auto-completion (as opposed to all sorts of flakey varieties such as omni-complete) and accurate code browsing with scope information to vim.
Viable is a plugin for the Eclipse environment that provides an interface as similar to vi (specifically Vim) as possible while maintaining access to all the powerful features of Eclipse. It supports visual block mode, common normal mode actions, command line mode (including command line history), "window" splits and management, regular expression search and replacement, and external filters and commands.
