And just how would we port all that software to Linux/*BSD if it is written in Visual Basic, or uses MFC or DirectX or requires MS Office or IE or Active Directory, or Outlook or ...
I see the situation getting out of hand with tons of crap Free/Open software for Win32 on freshmeat that only works under MS Windows. There are plenty of other sites for that content, please keep it off of freshmeat. Though I think it would be OK for software that works under Win32 as well as Linux and *BSD.

The multiple sites would be cool, though why java.freshmeat.net? That would be silly. Because we would then need c.freshmeat.net, cpp.freshmeat.net, php.freshmeat.net, perl.freshmeat.net, python.freshmeat.net, ruby.freshmeat.net, etc, etc.
