Gpaint is a small, easy-to-use paint program for GNOME. It features drawing tools (ovals, freehand, polygon, and text, with fill or shallow for polygons and closed freehand), cut and paste by selecting illegular regions or polygons, print support using gnome-print, a modern, ease-to-use user interface with tool and color palettes, and all the image processing features present in xpaint.
GtkCanvas is a straight port of the GNOME Canvas from the stable gnome-libs 1.2.4 back to gtk+. This widget behaves identically to the GnomeCanvas widget, with the same APIs, except the names are changed from gnome_canvas to gtk_canvas. Since the next version of gtk+ will drop GdkImLib and intgrate with gdk-pixbuf, it is expected that future versions of this widget will depend upon gtk+ only. It is intended that GtkCanvas will follow GnomeCanvas closely, merging new code whenever a stable release of the latter is made. Thus this is not really a fork but rather a "re-packaging" of the same code.
Libsqlfs is a library used in conjunction with SQLite that allows applications to put an entire read/write file system into a relational database as a single file in the host filesystem. Such a filesystem-in-a-file can easily be moved around, backed up, or restored as a single file. The filesystem can also be accessed as individual files through FUSE (File System in User Space). This provides great flexibility and convenience. File system accesses can be batched into atomic transactions (either all the updates are done, or none of them are). Libsqlfs was created as part of the "ACCESS Linux Platform", and it will be useful in many other applications.

Character Recognition is an Android app that allows the user to take a photo (or use existing image files on the device) and then apply the Tesseract OCR engine to extract the text in the photo. It is currently supporting English text, but other language support will be added in the future.
