ulock locks the entire virtual console system, completely disabling all console access. It gives up these locks when either the password of the user who started ulock or the root password is typed. It is able to invoke any program (i.e. a screen saver), which will be terminated on any keystroke. The idea of the program was taken from Michael K. Johnson's vlock.
hungrycat is a tool that prints the contents of a file on the standard output while simultaneously freeing disk space occupied by the file. It can be useful if you need to process a large file, but you don't have enough space to store the output file, and you won't need the input file afterward.

No, this is because I forgot to include it. You may use \\ instead.

Please check your locale settings. Unless `locale charmap` says "UTF-8", BrightMaRe will fall back to ASCII. Alternatively, you may use --utf8 option to force UTF-8 output.
